I need one big enough to carry both what I have in a normal sized saddlebag (tubes, multi tool etc etc) and what I can fit in my jersey pockets (phone, wallet, keys etc etc). Something like the Carradice zipped roll looks ideal but if anyone else has any good ideas, I'm all ears.

TIA

Carradice barley. Because.

The Barley carries a bit more than detailed in the OP. I quite like the look of the Ortlieb saddlebags but have never owned one. I have 2 Barleys. And you can get a lot more in than detailed in the OP. Did I mention that?

A sheep and a pig might fill it up a bit
I'm from the southern hemisphere. Barley could not hold a proper sheep.

Maybe one of your soft English sheep (or a typical UK herd)
(personal to @outlash - I'm still being provoked!!)

@jefmcg , It's a gorgeous, impassioned, illogical defence of the Barley but I think @Marmion nailed it, it looks just too big for what I want it for. If I wanted to take a picnic or pop down to the shop for a loaf of bread, maybe an overnight stop somewhere, it looks ideal but I'll explain. You mention Merino in one of your posts, I own and love a couple of pure Merino jerseys and whilst they do have pockets on the back, realistically other than a jelly baby, the material doesn't have enough structural integrity to hold anything else, hence my question.

I have the zipped roll and a barley and I'd say the zipped roll will do exactly as you wish and has the retro look to boot.
I hate carrying much in my back pockets too. Another option is Decathlon's handlebar bag which attaches by Velcro and tends to hang under the bar rather than ahead so there's no impact on handling. For approx £12 it's a bargain. Can post photo and link when on my laptop.

Thanks all, I've decided to stick with original idea and ordered a zipped roll. If it's not suitable, I'm sure you'll see it soon enough on the for sale board .
