My Cannondale Bad Boy 700 came with a Fizik Pave saddle, which wasnt very comfy so I added a Gel seat cover from Decathlon which helped, however nowadays it has got a bit shiny and with wearing Lycra which is also fairly shiny and low friction I have a delicate problem, I bascially find myself adjusting all the time as it tends to cause my cheeks to slide apart ;)

Apologies for the mental image, any ideas as to how to improve the situation !

They don't call it a Bad boy for nothing
I know this may not be attacking the problem directly, but have you considered a more agreeable saddle, as this gel cover is surely a sign that things are not working out. Afterall, what's the use in learning to salsa when the wife's doing the tango with the dance instructor.

For me, the flatter based saddles I find comfy. I'd recommend you take a look at the Charge Spoon, Knife or the Bucket (that's a licenced re-make of the trusty Turbo).

The Spoon and Knife are very comfy - personally I have a kinfe, and it's only 220g....

Gel covers or gel saddles are a no-no...you 'sink' into them too much

+1 - the cover can add to your discomfort actually as there may be too much padding.

Better option is to try another saddle out that fits you well (This unfortunately can be costly)- Personal saddle comfort is a very individual thing- I'm stil trying to find the right one tbh and will be selling a bunch of new and used once saddles soon!

Just to add to the confusion the saddle can be bike specific too. I love the Brooks on the brompton and tried it on the mountain bike for commuting and it just does not work! I also found that now that I have done a couple of thousand miles on the saddle that was on the mountain bike it is comfy. Either my bum or the saddle have adapted! Sheldon Brown has an interesting article on saddle comfort.

Buy a Charge Spoon.

Looked like it would be hard and uncomfortable, but turned out to be the comfiest saddle I've ever had - and it's only £20!

Another spoon here.....and a spoon for Cubester and a ladle for Cubette.... can't fault them, and if they don't suit, they go on Ebay for about what you paid for them.

I'll second that - cheap, smart and comfortable.

The Spoon's £20, the Knife has Ti rails, and less padding about £35-£45...both still bargains..........

All arses are different. Your arse is like no other.

This can made saddle choice a world of physical and financial pain. Even though some saddles seem to suit a wider range of arses, the only way to find the saddle is to try them out yourself. For example, people rave about Brookes saddles, but I've got a silly-price Ti railed Swift that's no better than OK. My ass-hatchet Specialised Toupe on the vanity bike is more comfortable.
