I have been looking at the Galaxy W because it is a good price sim free for £249.99 has good size screen and enough ram. I currently use an HTC Wildfire and it is ok except the ram is too small I would like a slightly bigger screen and it is too slow sometimes, but having said that the battery life on the Wildfire is excellent.

I dont want a Galaxy S II as they are too big and battery hungry and too expensive.

The only negatives I have found mentioned on reviews for the Galaxy W are the call quality and the flimsy battery cover, so I would like to know off those who use one what they think of them. I had a quick play with one in Car Phone Warehouse and as far as how quick it was I was impressed but I couldnt make calls on it so I dont know about the call quality.

My number 2 choice at the moment is the HTC Desire S.

I dont know about the galaxy, but I have the Desire s and its been great, I recalibrated the battery and get two to three days with some use of the mobile network, the bluetooth on all day, and some texts. Only thing Id warn of , is dont browse the net too long, that does eat the battery charge.

No experience of the Samsung, BUT, I would hold on a month or so if I were you. Mobile World Congress is about to happen in Barcelona which is where all the major manufacturers showcase and announce their new phones. With new stuff coming out that's going to have quad core and Android 4, older models like the Desire S should drop in price.

Ok I will do that, if I can restrain myself :hyper:

I have a client who is upgrading this phone and wants me to setup his email etc on it and he thinks he is getting a Desire S so hopefully I will get to play with one next week so I can see what I think

Where did you get it from in the end, Phil?

I ordered it from handtec, out of the online stores I had actually heard of they worked out cheapest, and also do a cheap pre 12 saturday delivery as well.

I was going to get it from carphonewarehouse like I usually do but I went into both shops in harrogate enquiring about the samsung w and in both shops the staff where completely useless and quite rude so I took my business else where.
