Hornby have released a 2012 Olympics Train set out. Is it the velo or the train set, anyone got one / getting one ?

Why do the bikes have sidecars ?

the 'sidecar' is where the motor is mounted, not sure if that's where the powered wheels are hidden.

It's essentially a micro scalextric car with a plastic moulded bike attached.

Got one on order. However as far as I'm aware the wheels on the bikes do not rotate, nor do the cyclists legs move.

Sofar there are two trainsets(R1148 & R1153) out & three train packs.

They've missed a trick. It should be a digital system with lane changing and the provision of a momentary power boost when you come off a wheel.

If you're gonna do it, do it properly.

I want to set one(velodrome) up & have it running but they won't allow it in the shop.

Sold mine on Monday (at a giveaway price

), it was taking up space in the loft and I haven't really got room to set it up. I've been thinking of going to N guage, however.
