Can you see this OK?

Those diagonal striations are tiny cracks, is this tyre still safe, done about 1200 miles on it, very little wear apparent?

Looks like it's just the surface rubber wearing.

Unless you start to get a greater than normal number of visits from the P fairy I wouldn't worry.

those lines are the casing underneath the rubber beginning to show through because the rubber has aged a little - nothing to worry about

I had one of those once, a yellow one and it lasted a few weeks tops, granted I locked the rear on that high friction bus lane tarmac, but it stripped all the rubber from the tyre over a few inches

not that impressed, I thought they'd stopped making them now

Its all the way around the sidewall, obviously old stock but I bought them in May. Is on the surface but I am worried about the weakening effect

Nah - no worries. The casing takes the strain. Put it on the rear if you are worried - then if the worst happens you'll be OK.

Just ride it till it dies.
