Schwalbe Ice Spiker tires

Hi guys
Has anybody used Schwalbe Ice Spiker tires for commuting when there is patches of ice rather than completely covered roads? Does the tarmac ruin the spikes when riding on parts of the road with no ice please?

Carbide spikes, they'll probably outlast the tyre. Read all about them here:
