The schwalbe luguano's that came with my bike are looking a tad bold so I need new tyres however I can't decide if to stick with what I know or upgrade to say Michelin conti Vittoria or schwalbe premium tyres.
The positives of my current tryes are Iv'e only ever had 1 pinch fl*t over 2000+ miles plus the price at an average a tenner a pop,but I keep reading how much a good tyre upgrade can improve your ride so is it worth shelling out between £40-£70 for a premium set of tyres or should I just stick with my budget tyres?
Has anyone gone from Luguano's to a more expensive tyre and noticed an improvement?

Id stick to the luganos. Excellent tyre. Go for 25mm and dont be scared of wire bead. Those 'premiums' are for ponses with nothing better to spend money on (ive been there).

Disagree with this a bit ive just upgraded to conti grand pri 4000s thay are amaizing tyres smoother faster and more comfortable and the grip is amaizing compared to the cheaper bontragers i had before. The wife has upgraded to schwalbe ulltrimo zx and she has said the same, only problem with them they have cracked a bit after 400miles

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Luganos and agree with the comment about a wire bead. Folding tyres can cost around £10 more and I doubt you'd notice the distance.

You could upgrade to the Duranos (P version). Great puncture protection, the only punctures I've had have been the kind that will puncture anything. Setting off on a 200 mile ride, on my own in the wet and dark I don't think I'd trust any other tyre.

Lugano are a good all purpose training tyre. I have been using them for 3 years and only punctured 5-6 times max. There are nicer tyres, which you might want to use for a specific event, a race or maybe a quick sportive, but I am not sure I would much pay more than the cost of Lugano's for a mile munching tyre.

I use mine on the turbo too and it holds up, been riding this one on the turbo and road for quite a while now and it is only just approaching its lags legs.

Wow she got 400 before any issues, that's amazing. They definitely roll fast but they are wrecked easily.. I got 250 out of one and a touch more out of the other. Both completely destroyed with massive eggs and splits in the side wall. On Conti gatorskins now.
I only changed the luganos to drop to a 23.
