I think if the chainset, brakes and gears were in black, it would look better.

Have fun and when you feel ready, make the move to clipless, you'll never look back.

Just keep in mind you may need to adjust your saddle height again etc to account for the change in pedals and additon of cleats.

I am still torn between SPD or SPD-SL... up to the degree that I bought BOTH off ebay, together with corresponding cleats.

Shimano ultegra 6610 SPD-SL, and Shimano SPD 520.

Looking at the yellow cleats of the SPD-SL, I am inclined to try the SPDs first!
