Hi everyone,

Just stumbled across this site, looks like a good one, I hope you can help me out.

I will be doing a 6 mile commute each way to work and am looking for a decent seat post rack.

I will be commutting on my xc mtb bike although this is not ideal its all I have right now so will have to suffice until I have room for a dedicated commuter bike.

I don't like wearing a ruck sack, it gets a bit hot and so I'm looking into racks.

I've read some reviews on seat post mounted racks and it seems the key thing is to get one with a 4 bolt clamp and not QR.

Can anyone recomend one?

Thanks in advance

Pete

I have this and it works relatively well. Its not 4 bolt, but it does the job.

The only difficulty I have really had with it is that it does occasionally have the tendency to sway a little from side to side, as there is no physical support at the edges - so don't overload it.

However, it suffices with my 11ish mile commute. Especially with this. It really wasn't up to the job on my first tour earlier in the season though.

Hi ya

I've got an el-cheapo Raleigh one with quick release and has been perfect for my 14 mile round trip. I have 2 sets of panniers now - one that's a rack bag and then 2 cheapy rear panniers and it all fits fine. I don't overload it but for a commute to work, I've been more than happy.

I'm relatively new to all this cycle game and didn't want to fork out fortunes in case I lost the urge!! But actually, it feels weird when I don't cycle now and I actually miss being on the bike!!!
