Funny how these things get through accounting systems simply because the figures add up, ie invoices and purchase orders, and it isn't until a human* looks at it and says 'hang on a minute - that's not right!'

I worked for a builders merchant years ago and we quoted one of the big contractors for about 500 paving slabs at say £2.00 ea for a Sainsbury site. When their PO came through it had our total of £1000 but per slab so the total read £500,000! I said we should go for it but my manager wouldn't let me...the chicken!

*not that I'm suggesting accountants aren't human! :tired:

It was £984 for six of them, which is £164 each.
