The guy actually was in the process of lashing the door to his bike

I presume he succeeded as he the door and the bike were all gone when I past again a short time later ^_^

I wonder if he stole the door, the bike, or both.

I don't really see anything unusual in the activity. When I was a nipper and bicycles were more popular and used more frequently in utilitarian mode, it was quite common to see sacks of coal, ladders, tin baths, sacks of potatoes being moved about. No one would have bnatted an eyelid at seeing a door being transported by bike.

I saw a bloke taking a sink somewhere when we were on the bike path heading into Brugge.

Last time I had to move a door by bike, I used a trailer. Have to get a trailer up and working again.
