All is clear now, I thought that was what the idea was, but the big question is WHY.??

Without being sarcastic, I think she is probably making a commentary on sellfies or even her own use of them.

"Digital natives" have a visual way of expressing themselves that is foreign to older people. They communicate freely in places like snapchat and instagram almost entirely in photos and other images. If an older person wants to point to the absurdity of selfies, they will write a paragraph about it (maybe accompanied by a sketch). Someone fluent in instagramlish will take a selfie of herself** taking a selfie and share it with her followers, expressing possibly exactly the same questions.

It's quite possible she couldn't be articulate about it in words, and if she tried, less people would read them than would look at that image.

I was crossing the Ponte Vecchio when I saw a young lady use a selfie stick to take a selfie of herself taking a selfie. The meta-selfie is now a thing.
