Use the ones at the Post Office. They weigh things to 1/100 of a gram.
I doubt it. Not even my local cocaine dealer goes down to that resolution.

Take a look in your local Post Office.
I shall do that on my next visit, but I don't doubt the veracity of your statement. I doubt the scale's ability to go down to that resolution in a meaningful way. Measurement at that resolution, at 10-5 of a kg or meter is specialist stuff. You don't do it on an open pan scale or by using a ruler of sorts. The scale will have to be enclosed so that breezes and dust doesn't affect it, it will have to be cushioned to prevent building vibration to frustrate you and, even then, you'll have to continuously re-calibrate it with known weights which can never be touched by hand.
Some of the lab rats on here can perhaps shed better light on measuring weight to such accuracy. I've forgotten who they are but I hope they come out of the pipework for this one.

The concept is bizarre.

They're more accurate than mechanical ones. If you think the Post Office are diddling people then complain to Watchdog.
