Where can I find a bright SEO guy who will work for results? 2 websites generated a tidy sum for me 2005-2010, I was ahead of the game (for once) but now they have slipped down the rankings due to my other time consuming interests, cycling, drinking and lazing about.

No, I am not going to pay anything, but, I'll happily give a very good % of the business/profits away.

google changed its search algorithm last year. no point stuffing the page with keywords as long form content is preferred, as are non-reciprocal inbound links, especially from social media (and especially google+)…

Yep, there's really no magic to it these days - Google's algorithms are very, very good. Write good content (at least 400 words per page). Write natural headlines that contain your top one or two keywords. And get organic links.
