I love sewing, and knitting, and crochet, pretty much anything crafty in fact. I used to make a lot of my own clothes in the 80's, I remember a red, black and white stripy jumpsuit in particular , circa 1984. I was in John Lewis who at the time had a big haberdashery dept and I bought the material purely because there wasn't much left and another woman was eyeing it up . The day it was finished I wore it on a night out in Newcastle, Tuxedo junction I think, I thought I was the bees knees

Last time I sewed anything was in a needlework class at school. I recently took a garment to a shop be hemmed and nearly fainted at the cost  Where is that old sewing kit !

I used to do loads of sewing.
As a little girl, I made dresses for my dolls and teddies, as an adult, I've made a couple of patchwork quilts and lots of clothes in student days - turquoise ra-ra skirt
and 'customised' some dungarees.

I made a bum-bag and spent hours sewing gold sequins on it to go to an Erasure concert (um 1987?) loads of people asked me where I got it from.

In the last few years I've made less - but I love that what used to be seen as kind of 'dweeby crafter' is hot hobbies now - there are so many sites and 'how-to' lenses showing you how to make things, courses, and places selling made items - folksy.com is one.
