I an in need of advice please. I have just had my road bike serviced at my local bike hut. The service included replacing cables and a new chain. Now, when I am on the large front ring, trying to gear shift to a larger cog on the rear cassette, sometimes the chain will skip 2 cogs at a time or the gears won't change at all. Is this because the gears are poorly indexed, does the chain need to 'bed in', is it a problem with lubrication or would there be another reason for this to happen?

Thanks in advance.

Not indexed properly, take it back and get them to do it again.
