Shimano 105 adjusting the mech ?

The flight deck bit is doing all the clicking and behaving as it should (counting the clicks), but the chain has dropped off the small chain ring a couple of times, and seems to be on the limit of its adjustment on the big ring, and also on the rear mech, it struggles to get and stay on the big rear ring, and gives me an extra click on the small rear ring

Anyone know how best to set both ends up properly as I've adjusted the cable knob on the rear mech, but with limited results ?

It might be that the cable has stretched a bit too much for the adjuster to compensate anymore so maybe release the cable clamp on the rear mech and tighten the cable up there?

The easiest thing when you get a bit lost is to start afresh.

In this case you could simply undo the cable and do as TMK says and then re-tighten - but remember to co-ordinate the mech position with the lever.

So undo cable on rear mech and click the right lever until you are in say the 5th biggest sprocket. Then simply position the rear mech over the 5th sprocket and pull the cable tight and tighten upon the clamp. Now the lever says 5th sprocket and the rear mech is over the correct sprocket.

Then do the same for the front mech.
