shimano derailer

I was wondering can you change from say Shimano alvio (I may of spelt it wrong ) and the deore.
because i want to change the group set, chain cassette as well

The answer is yes.. as a rule..as long as you stay with components of the same 'speed' ie: 8sp, 9sp..etc.. you can change up and down the shimano product line without much ado.
