Sorry if this is a thick question, but is there supposed to be a hole at the toe end of the sole on these shoes? It goes right through the inner sole as well. The shop I bought them from says it's for additional ventilation and to let water out. Pictures of the shoes online look as if there is a plug for the hole. I can't imagine using the shoes in wet weather without a plug!

Gaffer tape or clingfilm...or you could get sealskin socks
But why should one have to resort to this? The way the sole is channeled up to the hole, it's just going to funnel any rain straight in. I guess it's going to be a "fair weather shoe".

Because it's the kick back from the front tyre so ideally get mudguards

But surely the hole in the sole is there to let out the rain that comes in through the mesh top :rain:
Iff there's no drain hole your shoe could fill up.

Hadn't thought of that one Andrew! Looks like Sealskinz then.

I have these shoes and never once have had a problem with water inside them? And I live in Scotland :rain:
