My handbuilts are under 1600g... open pro cds, Ambrosio hubs, DT revolution spokes, alloy nipples. Cost about £250 all in.

Cheers for that Rob

I was initially leaning towards the RS80s due to the carbon/alloy laminate and then came across the Pro-lite's which threw my decision somewhat

You have obviously done your research and made your decision, hope you enjoy and maybe I'll be another Pro-lite owner soon........

and then again

I have both - RS80s and Braccianos. They are both really excellent and as far as I can tell functionally identical, but I would give the RS80s the smallest of small edges due to the fact that they run 100% silently and are slightly more "bling". But, and it is a big but, the Braccianos are cheaper.

Agent Hilda has RS80s and they are fabulous wheels. The best word I can think of for the rims is that they are a concoction - the section is strengthened around the spokes, which means the weight, such as it is, is kept down. I believe that the rims and the spokes are identical to 2011 Dura-Ace wheels.

Thanks for the replies

Something I never considered but have come across whilst browsing the web is how they perform for the heavier rider

I'm not a skinny whippet, more of an old Labrador at 12st 4 !

Will these be up to the job

RS80 has the same rim as the Dura Ace C24 - but will not have the DA's hubs or titanium freehub.
