Shimano Sora

Young friend of my sons broke his chain. He is using a 15 yr old road bike ( probably on the original chain ). Anyone know likely cost of Sora 8 speed cassette, new Chainrings ( double ) plus of course chain ( low end 8 speed ). Chainrings don`t seem to be running true ( maybe the cause of the snapped chain ).

Ebays probably the cheapest bet...i picked up a Sora chainset, lightly used for about £10 to 15 (cant quite remember)...it'd cost £15 for one new chainring in the LBS
8 speed chains arent expensive, i'd have thought £10
8 speed cassette...ebay again.

Probably too late but dont assume the casette is a cassette. I had a Sora 8 speed setup on a Raleigh and that had a freewheel, not casette. Just a detail that may save some wasted time and money.
