Shimano ultegra disc brake service

Got some in for service. Has anyone managed to bleed the system without the Shimano bleed kit?
Looks logical enough just need to sort out some sort of resovouir for the leaver by the looks of it

Completed.
I used a plastic tube and syringe body for the resovouir and pumped fluid up from the caliper using another syringe and tube. .
Couple of smal drips but no real mess.
