As my original post said, she retired in 1950, but as part of my youth in the 60's and 70's, her films were always on TV. Especially Saturday mornings.

I must say that she did give me the creeps a little as a child star......however, in later life she did some great things.
I know what you mean, but I think she had a pretty good, long life. She died of natural causes at the age of 85 with her family beside her. You can't really ask for much more than that.Oh dear, how sad.
