Hi
What the general advice on shimano road shoes sizes?
I normally take a 42 but I have heard shimano come up well small.

Can anyone confirm this? Do I go up one size or two?

We ought to have our own sizing chart for shoes and clothing on Cycle Chat so we can judge off others comments on sizing.

What's most important is the shape of the shoe, particularly the toe box. Every manufacturer uses a slightly different last to form their shoes.

Basically, as already mentioned, you do need to try some on.

For info. I take a size 42 shoe, but my Shimano cycling shoes are a 43.

Also bear in mind it's now winter and if you don't want your feet freezing, you'll need to wear more than one pair of socks (at least I do in this weather) so you need 'em slightly bigger. Also remember, as with all sports shoes, that your feet swell slightly during excercise so never try any on with regular socks early in the day with cold feet!

I usually take a 45 but my Shimano shoes are 46 and the length is perfect. They are quite narrow shoes though and my feet are probably only slightly wider then average!

Try some on before buying!
