I badly need some new shorts. I currently use MoreMile tights or Tenn Outdoors shorts. I am now finding that beyond about 3 hours things become decidedly painful where you don't want pain, not good with the Dunwich Dynamo just a few weeks away. I have to admit to a degree of rotundness and I am a heavyweight.

I have conflicting needs which may not be able to be met. Money is tight and I would like a pad that doesn't collapse after a few miles. I looked at Assos, but they are well beyond my budget, so can anyone recommend or suggest a decent compromise.

DHB range from Wiggle always gets decent reviews.

I just got some reduced Sportful ones (WSD) from Sigma - they have a pad that feels very good (will admit to not having worn them yet as I am still waiting for the above the knee shorts weather to arrive)

They have some reduced men's bibs in larger sizes

Lots of other clearance clothing. I also like Pearl Izumi and Gore if they have those brands

Recent review of bibs in Cycling Active did say that the DHB pad is comparatively thin

I can highly recommend these from Go Outdoors. Nice comfy fit, not too tight round the thigh as I find assos to be. Decently priced too
