My year is almost at an end, and I still love my trek 7.3wsd.

But, given I am used to spending all the money anyway, should I take out another, and add a different kind of bike to the stable?

I love the look of the road bikes with drop handles, they always seem to go much faster than me - but that's maybe the cyclists, not the bike lol!

I would be wanting to spend another £500 ish - could I get anything good for my money?

Ooh yes......then you can have a winter bike and a summer bike. No excuses once you got both though.........

LOL what's the difference between a winter bike and a summer? Is the summer my go faster one, or the winter, to keep me warm

Who's your Cycle to Work provider?

Halfords are getting shut of their 2010 Carerra range and they're good bikes for cheap. They're about £100 off retail.

Of course you should.

I can't remember who said it, but my favourite bike quote at the moment is, "The ideal number of bikes to own is the number of bikes you currently own +1."

Tee hee. Will check at work tomorrow who my provider is and let you know ... my year is up in mid august, so not long till I decide whether to go for it again or not.

It could mean I keep one at work and one at home, for those weekday and weekend manouvres.

Yep I would. I have three bikes, all different, and really enjoy changing and riding different ones for a while.

If you have fancied a road bike, go for it. Get one with a good frame, the components you can always upgrade if you want better later on. It is near te end of the season, so the timing will be good to get a sell off 2010 or 11 model.
