Let's see your bikes built up from scratch or partly rebuilt. You know the story, you find an old frame on a skip, you got the wheels off a mate and the rest came from ebay. You work away and after many days and weeks on one stormy thundery night there she stands. A shaft of lightning comes crackling down and hits the seatbolt and she comes alive! She's ugly, she's hideous, she's beautiful but you love her like only a father or mother can.

Not that long really... a few weekend's work. Maybe a day to strip things down and clean up the main components (steel wool, white spirit and autosol). Rubbing down the old paint on the frame was the most time consuming part. Applying the new paint was fairly quick - an odd 15 minutes of rubbing back and painting for each coat between giving the last coat time to dry. It then got stuck in the heat of the airing cupboard for a week to help cure it before I rebuilt everything.

I get fidgety if I don't have at least one project on the go at any given time and bicycles make cheaper projects than a lot of my other alternatives!

One of the guys down here built this from all spare parts as he could afford it. Spec includes hydraulic brakes.
