School boy error. Got back from cycling this evening and chucked my wooly cycling jersey in the washing machine in with the rest of my kit at a low 30/o. I have Just emptied the washing machine and lol. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I couldn't be doing with hand washing it anymore. Yep it's shrunk and looks like it'll be going in the bin .Last time I had a wooly jumper my Mum did the washing

Anyway you can revive them or is it for the bin ?

Thanks.

i always get told that when hanging the washing out must not peg at bottom of object when wet as it will stretch , not sure if that will work or not .

Maybe not bin (depending on how creative you are) but not retrievable either.

I feel your pain though. I got one wear out of a merino cycling jersey I bought from the US before it went square shaped after a wash. I don't bother with hand wash garments now.

I wouldn't mind so much if woolies shrunk in proportion! THEN you could give them to a smaller person. But, ime, the only person suited to my post wash garments is...

My 100% Merino Nike and Descente tops are great, they've always been put in the machine wash, no problems whatsoever.
My three Campagnolo tops have to be carefully hand washed and left to drip dry.
Despite this they're trying their damndest to shrink.
I'll never buy another Endura wool top again. Despite careful hand washing and drying they've both shrunk right down, despite
buying them purposely a size bigger to allow for shrinkage.
My other dozen or so wool mix tops can go into a hot wash without any problems.

My Descente merino washes well too.... falling apart at the seams but at least it hasn't shrunk!

Mine did that too. Luckily, my friend is a seamstress and fully put it through her overlocker. Now it's bombproof.
The quality of the original stitching was quite poor. No wonder they were a quarter of the original RRP.
