Been having an incredible run of bad luck recently for cycle commuting. In between having to get home early for the kids and some really bad weather (OK, I admit it, cycling through rain for 23 miles just doesn't cut it for me) I haven't been doing it much the last 2 weeks.

Anyway, this week:

Monday: Holiday
Tuesday: I have to get the kids so couldn't cycle in
Wednesday today: I've been selling a bike at work -and the person wanted to look at it today, so I had to drive in with it.... Then I had a brainwave: "Aha! why not just drive in with the bike I want to sell plus my commuter bike and cycle the full 23 miles home, and then cycle in tomorrow morning?" (I have to get back early tomorrow for my kids, so if I wasn't careful I'd only be left with Friday to cycle commute).

Anyway, just got word there's a Tornado watch on in the area -until 8:00pm, and I haven't got lights so can't wait that long. Bah! And double Bah! I'm thinking I'll just wait until 5:00pm and see what the weather looks like -if it doesn't look bad I think I'll just do it.

Forgot to ask: if I do cycle home, should I wear a helmet?

Good job I didn't cycle home; weather was atrocious. Quite a few tornadoes touched down, 4 people dead.

Not where I commute but where I've cycled on tour in central Massachusetts one church spire and two houses are completely gone -sounds like the town had one go down their main street -yikes! Wife made me take the family down the cellar this evening (didn't need to though, I think a bit of over reaction personally).

Anyway, pretty amazing video here:

I've cycled across that bridge!
