We're in the process of being TUPEd over to our new employer, all terms and conditions are supposedly the same....but I think they've cocked up on mine, to my considerable benefit.
I earn £xxxxx PA, salaried, and work a 50 hour week, plus cover every third weekend for 5 hours each Saturday and Sunday. So, quite a few hours and I daresay if I broke it down to an hourly rate, it may not be so good...but a goodish salary every month plus full pay in sickness etc...I'm reqsonably happy.
I just got my new contract....:rolleyes::smile:..
My salary is the same, but they quote my working week as 40 hours, plus working a weekend every three weeks.
Ive suddenly gained 10 hours a week...bonus, but better still, I could be taking a day off on lieu of my weekend work every three weeks.
I dont think they realise what my hours are or how im paid. I suspect they think im hourly paid and /or get time off in lieu for overtime. I know they don't like people on their other site working over 48 hours.
The contract says what it says...i checked with other guys on different terms..their contracts match exactly what they currently work...mine doesnt...i'm going to blag it

Has the Company signed it or a representative of? If so, sign, then scan, make several hard copies, seal and deliver as suggested by registered post. Enjoy your new hours. Presumably all your other conditions remain the same?

If you work 50 hours a week have you agreed to forgo your rights under the Working Time Directive of 48 hours?

as a hint, in work, never breath a word of your good fortune

Yebutt, it is going to become obvious when he tells his boss/colleagues that he's off home as he's done his contracted hours. Boss may say, news to me! You stay anyway until you're done, unpaid. Tough. Anyhow I find it hard to believe that his original contract stipulated a standard 50 hour week unless he works in an excepted profession and as I say agreed to forgo the WTD. Perhaps his contract always was 40 hours a week and he's been doing an extra 10 hours a week as unpaid over time?
