Going home last night through Canning Town past the tube station it has a cycle lane running all the way down and a two carriage road. No traffic and I'm going 25ish.

Mr Plod at 5mph turns straight out of the side road into my path. Real evasive swerve by me so not to plow straight into him.

Not an apology or a word when he catches me at the lights.

Where do they learn to ride???

Who knows?

I encountered a police man and a PCSO on bikes while out on my ride this morning. I was riding behind them as we approached the end of the road, where I was turning right and assumed they were too.

Glancing briefly at the traffic, PC says "Shall we go up on the pavement?" to PCSO and across the road they went, up the kerb, and on their slow wobbly way.

I didn't say anything, because I didn't want to get drawn into an extended discussion at the time, but perhaps I should have mentioned that putting a bit more air in their tyres and popping their seats up a touch might make everything a little more comfy.

I had two of them do that in front of my truck not so long ago. I nearly locked the trailer wheels trying to avoid them. Idiots.B)

Seems like theres alot of incidents with cops doing stupid things on this forum over the past week. The cops are trying to act like nothing had happened ...its one rule for us, and another rule for them.

Generally plod on bikes in Cambridge obey the laws of the road quite well. They do tend to be gutter huggers, though, and it saddens me that they believe that this is an appropriate way to ride.
