I learnt quite a lot from these videos as a noob cyclist. Before I got my commuter I watched near all of them and the advice given has really helped to make me more aware on the road and I learnt to try and predict fools on the road.

Anyone else benefit from these videos or are you just shocked by what some cyclists get up too?

A bit of both to be honest. I used to be a really crap rider until I started watching others' Youtube videos.

Being a London cycling commuter. Not much shocks or surprises me nowadays at what cyclists do. Only those that undertake lorries at junctions or RAB still shock me.

I've stopped being shocked by that now. Considering the Old Kent Road is in effect an urban motorway, some of the cycling is just ridiculous.

I have thought a lot about this and I think the rides into London are actually much worse than city centre cycling.I find cars slower in London than some knob passing inches from your elbow at 50mph on a dual carriage way and other roads.

I too found Gaz's videos very helpful when starting out. A valuable resource for new commuters, as is the guide at the top of this forum.

I've been urban commuting fro nearly 15 years. I'm ashamed to say I was a nutter in the early years, not just silly, positively Darwinian. Happily, despite a number of close shaves, I never had an accident. I was already a pretty measured cyclist by the time I found Silly Cyclists but I still learn from it and eagerly await every instalment. Gaz . . .

I still learn from those videos. More importantly, I learn from my own videos, I regularly go back and review stuff that I thought I could have done better at. I think that's no different to any other camera user out there.

Yes Gaz, get your arse in gear and get the next episode out...

Thank you. Than reminds me I should allow some time to do another episode.
Well I have got a 'Good cyclist' vid for you if you want. Two cyclists ahead of me, approaching a taxi blocking our side of the road, both of them shoulder check, rear one indicates, and they perform a good overtake. Both of them were wearing hi-vis as well as helmets (yes I know).
