Yes that is me.We have just been up in Edinburgh for three days, came back tonight 20-00.Young Miss Postman is studying up there for the next four years. She was 19 on Friday,Friday night was her party and farewell party all rolled in to one.The house was packed, her pals were brilliant all well behaved and respecrful.Full marks from me.
So Saturday morning the car was packed up,we even had stuff under or feet, and on our laps.Yet Sunday we called at Sainsbury's for food stuff,Ikea for householsd stuff and Argos for electrical stuff. So Sunday at 18--00 we said our goodbyes she was going to have her meal with her new flatmates. So we were going up the Royal Mile to Bella Italia. We had spent Sunday helping her to unpack and put stuff away, even Dan her brother, who has blossomed at his Uni Manchester Met.So goodbyes were said, first the wife,no tears, then Dan who was cracking jokes about looking after herself and cooking which she is excellent at.Her cake baking is superb, her mates are in for a treat when a birthday comes round. Then it was my turn, yes you have guessed it i blubbed, silly old fool.Even in the restaurant i kept looking at the empty chair.Daft sod.
Anyway we had a few more things to buy this morning and left them in reception and texted each other.
What a fantastic place Edinburgh is,i don't know why i got upset, her best mate from school is on the next floor up,tonight they were having Haggis neeps and tatties.
I am so proud, the way both of them have gone off to Uni our Dan has blossomed it has made him an even finer youngman.Charlotte will grow in Edinburgh. So happy for both of them.
Just a little side note,we went on the A1 all the way, what a superb journey, when i saw the signs for Darlington i thought of our Vernon and i know now why he loved cycling in that part of the country it is beautiful.
