Easy, tell your stinky colleague to get his stinky clothes out of the office.

Otherwise bring out the garlic and limburger cheese sandwiches for lunch. You don't have to eat them, just wave 'em around.

Reminds me of a time when one office complained about a smelly guy to HR. HR dragged in legal and we end up with a lawyer flying out to the remote office to 'smell' the guy.

Plenty has been said on this posting about how to deal with what is maybe a problem but let's think for a minute aboute the orginal posting and ask our selves are we being used to do someone's dirty work. Because it looks to me like both those involved read these pages and somebody is coming in through the back door here.

What makes you think that?

Just say to the guy that his kit is a bit whiffy, no need for a melodrama he's the one being a touch inconsiderate, doesn't matter if he's unaware coz he needs to be made aware.

As for only one lot of kit and a 20 mile commute, that's just ridiculous, definitely needs clean every day and, personally, I'd go with clean in each direction as well. It's only commuting kit, used once a week even cheapo stuff will last and you're looking at a max of x10 for everything. I found that x6, or 3 days worth, worked for me, allowing time for washing/drying twice per week.

Build it up gradually, buy stuff in sales, as Mikey says you wouldn't try to get by on one pair of pants and one shirt.
