Just got back from seeing the above 70's band, live in Llandudno. They were fantastic and can certainly teach all those modern boys/girls bands a thing or two . They don't do any of that polished, timed to the second show, just a plain old fashioned concert, responding to the audience and playing with audience. Ok, the lead singer doesn't have the smooth voice he had in the 70s but he can still capture his followers and deliver the goods. The whole show was full of nostalgic songs enjoyed by everyone. The finale of course, was "Alice" which lasted for far longer than the original.
If, like me, you are locked in the 60s and 70s for music and Smokie happens to play near you, go and see them, you won't be disappointed.

I love Smokie. Anyone who can listen to 'I feel love' for example, a deeply touching song, without a tear, has a heart of stone.
They were popular in Europe, especially Germany, but the Brits never really got them. But that's the Brits for you.

I love Smokie and I used to groom the dogs of the keyboard player. Forgotten his name at the chap now though.
