De Montfort Hall in Leicester have dropped the Seven Dwarves from this years pantomime and replaced them with "seven friends."
I wonder exactly how friendly are they with Miss White?
Apparently audiences feel uncomfortable with the word dwarf.

You can bet your booty that no members of the potential audience or cast give a shoot. It'll be some stupidly well-paid nobber warning about lawsuits.
Mind you, I'm not 2 foot 4. :okay:

May have made casting easier. I'm not sure whether or not dwarf is offensive, but you might be treading a fine line if you apply it to people who don't have dwarfism.
It'll be interesting to see if they sell any tickets.
It's a pantomime. British people eat that shoot up. It'll sell fine.

See the prollem with this whole scenario, men in tights and the like is that Snow White is the median, or the norm if you
like, so anyone shorter or darker or fatter or dopier is an oddity and we should all be like her - as pure as the driven snow.
Wikepedia offers this dull definition of pantomime: a dramatic entertainment, originating in Roman mime, in which performers express meaning through gestures accompanied by music.
But in my book a panto is where we go for a laugh and to make fun of the pristine Snow White and the seven sides of her character friends or not.
