Roads were white when I left. Easier to ride in the fresh snow. All the cars were really slow approaching mucklow hill. One night where cycling was a lot faster than driving.

It's been trying down here, 20 or so miles from you since 5 pm......

Not happy, when will it warm up........ it's not as though I've been stopped by the weather, just wish it would be a bit warmer.

we are on average 2 degrees cooler up here than the lower ground. according to local wunderground site it was -6 cel last night and ha not been above freezing. last snowfall just ice now. i have had to use the snow socks for the car far too many times this winter. forst snow was 18th december. i should have bought some spikes.

That's the only down side....colder...but..... great cycling country up there...

I'm just a few miles from Kinder - that's snow capped totally.......but I'm low enough for the crap to miss us... literally 1 mile from our house was good sledging this weekend..........

This does take some planning at this time of year as a "low lander", as I nearly ran into trouble in January - i.e. frozen roads and stuff on a weekend run, fine near home, get out near Macclesfield (same height only 10 miles away) ..ohhh.... suppose the hot air from Manchester - 9 miles north of me affects stuff........(19-20 miles from Macc).......

Was snowing here in Wakefield earlier- not sticking though. The mrs called from Roundhay in Leeds and it was snowing heavily there....

actually it's snowing here again. Not very heavily, but I'll be digging out the balaclava for the morning!
