Waited outside the Radio One studio today with my oldest daughter in the blistering artic wind to get pics and autographs of her favourite band Paramore. First of all we waited about a hour and a half to watch them stride into the building saying "Hi, we,ll be out later to see you", cue coffee shop. Back to the wind tunnel that is broadcast house at 12 o clock we go, 2 hrs later my poor girl is shaking like Ryan Giggs on a episode of Mr & Mrs, I can honestly say I lost the feeling in my cheeks and lips, gawds knows what the rest of the mainly teenage girls felt like. At the end of the day daughter number one came back with a signed CD of all three band members and some cracking pics ;)

The things us parents do eh ?

I'm so glad it was Parameters and not One Dimension, No Direction or whatever they're called.

I met and chatted with Hayley Williams at an industry do.
She's a really nice, friendly person.
Makes a nice change.

I've got to say Hayley was great, she happily chatted, posed for pictures and signed as many bits and bobs she could for the kids. Nice to see not all, so called stars are jumped up diva,s..... Yes, Just on Beeper I'm talking about you.

+1 on being very cold today, too. Felt like I was driving the pedals with two blocks of ice, not two feet. I think we got back just in time from our cycle - not sunny but certainly not raining and a healthy head wind in all directions - got home, showered, next thing I look out of the window and there's a blizzard?! Summer, I miss you!

What? Surely if they're old enough to lust after pop stars they're old enough to wait alone whilst you warm your toes in front of a log fire in a local hostelry?
Having said that, I regularly freeze to death watching LO play football. I have no reason to be there as his Dad coaches the team, but it makes me all proud and he seems to like me there!

Been there, done that. I reckon the payback will be when I'm 70 and I ask them to wait with me (and pour my soup from my flask) while I wait to get Nigella Lawson to autograph my zimmer frame. Or even "autograph my zimmer frame".

Oops, spent a day off here - I've just realised that my phone auto-corrected (auto-wronged surely?) from Paramore to Parameters. Can I assure everyone that my 15 year old stepson had introduced me to Paramore, and not Parameters.
