I posted a while back saying I'd just grudgingly accepted that bicycle technology has moved on since the '80s by swapping my beloved Vitus 979 for a Principia 700, and appreciating the difference it makes (to which some smart-arse responded along the lines of 'yeah, modern bikes are better - maybe you should get one!')

Well, I was just in my LBS waiting for The Man, and picked up (as you do) a bike they had on display, which I've vaguely heard of - a Trek Madone 5.2. YeGods - it was like picking up a bag of crisps! No wonder the bastards go faster than me!

I'm still trying to get used to those blasted pedals....can't see them
catching on, but one has to keep up with the times, doesn't one

can somebody please let me know when they have invented a power source for bike lights instead of having to rely on dynamos
