Part way through my ride today I was in my own little world when I noticed a bird (eagle) sat on top of a gate post. It was about the size of a cat with brown feathers. Now I know it was too big to be a kestral or hawk, but didn't think/expect to see an eagle in my part of the world! I stopped to get a picture, but by the time I had turned the bike etc, it had flown too far to get a decent photo (I did see it, honest!)

I work in Birmingham city centre and the other day two of my colleagues saw a sparrowhawk fly into a pigeon, drag in to the floor and start to eat it, quite amazing in the city!
