I am very interested in this, however, i currently have a compact is it a straight swap, do i need a new bb?

This is a hollowtech chainset - so if you have a hollowtech BB it will fit straight in.

The front mech should be compact and double compatible.

At present you have a square taper BB and crankset.

To fit the above you would need to get a Hollowtech BB - here's video (you don't need a Torque Wrench but do need a BB spanner - £8 or so)

Thanks, great video, so i am assuming i would need one of these, http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-deore-bb51-bottom-bracket-cup-set/, at the very least.

My only other question would be is it worth it on my current bike?

EDIT: and how did you know that my bb was a square taper?

a) You need a Road rather than MTB hollowtech BB - so this one is better

b) Personally I don't like the old square taper BB's - the external bearings of Hollowtech are much bigger and give a lot less friction IMHO.

c) I checked the spec and guessed it was standard on those bikes.
