Seen a few posts on here recently about removing traffic lights on different threads and some trials down in the south of England seem to have become permanent. I can think of plenty of places where they could be removed where I live and work in the west of Scotland. A lot of the time you seem to be waiting in the car for no real reason and could easily use your own judgement to move away safely.

As for the learning difficulties part (I am a support worker) most of the people with learning difficulties nowadays have support staff with them when they are out and about. Unfortunately there are those who do not have the assistance but you would be surprised at how aware they are and the smallest details that they pick up on that most people would either ignore or simply not notice.

As for people with sight impairments I have no experience of this so cannot comment but both points are something that seriously need to be considered.
