Either the belt or the unit itself has packed up as I'm no longer seeing the heart rate. Any suggestions as to how I might work out which it is (belt or unit)?

I've changed the battery in the belt, confirmed battery contacts are good, 'reset' the belt (shorting it out) and hard reset the unit. The unit does not 'pair' with the belt (cadence/speed sensor is fine). I don't think the Edge 305 pairs with any old Ant+ belt, and I don't have another belt I can use to test anyway.

I'm quite happy to replace the belt (if that's the problem) but wouldn't run to replacing the unit.

Edit: the logo on the belt has long since worn out so I no longer know which is the top side, so if anyone could tell me which side the battery compartment is (left or right) then I'd be obliged. I'm not sure it matters with this HRM but it'd be good to know none-the-less.

Edit edit: sorted now. I went through the reset processes again (for the 4th or 5th time!) and it started working again.
