Yes, it was a good ride. Thanks for showing us the area Dave!

All in all, about 30 miles, but with less than 1,000 feet of climbing, so very, very flat! (So that's why it's called "the Levels"). Really nice to explore a new area too. So many places I didn't know existed, I can see many a weekend ride around there with the wife and kids!

So, when's the next one?!

I've patched what I think was the route into RunKeeper, and that last hill really was the highlight climb of the day! And even that wasn't too bad.

It's amazing how 30 miles flies when you're in company. When we got back I actually wondered if we'd cut some of the planned route out.

Anyone fancy something in the Taunton area?

It's all about whether the date is convenient for me!

During the last ride we had tentatively planned for the next one to be on Sunday May 15[sup]th[/sup].

Not sure of the starting point/route yet, as that will depend on the location of those interested. Any takers?

We've vaguely planned a ride this Sunday (15th), starting from Winford (BS40, near the airport), then following the Avon Cycleway to Pill (via Clevedon), onto the Pill cycle track along the river and under the Clifton Suspension Bridge into Bristol, then back to Winford via some of the quieter roads over Dundry.

I would imagine we'll stop for cakes somewhere along the line, although, I can't off the top of my head think of anywhere along the route! There must be somewhere in the harbour side near the SS Great Britain.

Planning to start at about 11:00ish, and it's probably about 30, maybe 35 miles, so at our speeds, that'll probably about 3 hours, maybe more depending on the number of cakes consumed.

Anyone else fancy joining us? There are two, maybe three confirmed, and possibly some random Twitter people!

Edit: The Pill path is a little rough, especially at the Pill end (where it’s stony), It’s quite doable on 23's, but not very comfortable, so it's worth knowing that it's more suited to wider tyres.
