I remember reading somewhere an odd thing a long time ago, that a Vet is allowed to treat a human, but a Doctor cannot treat an animal.

I finally decided to look it up as I had always been curious about it, and the answer was as clear as mud, so, what is the truth on this??

Granted in an emegency, a Vet would be better that nobody, but more than that??

Well, in the Highlands one year, my son went to the local GP to have a fishing hook taken out of his leg (which was apparently my fault) and the GP said he was very good while she did it, much better than the last patient, who had bitten her. There was some puzzled confusion until it became clear her last hook patient was canine.

Thanks, don't ask me where I read that, it did seem a bit of a strange statement, but I simply assumed that since a vet has to know about lots of different species, their broader knowledge would win out.

Our cat's vet would have done a better job of my vasectomy. Should have turned right rather than left at the roundabout (within 300 yards of each other).
Not quite the same procedure on larger cases though!
