Sorry for Silly Question but - MP4 on an Iphone 4

Easiest is to convert it in iTunes - add it to the Library then select Advance/Create AAC Version from the menu. Then sync the AAC version with the iPhone.

There used to be an app called VLC but Crapple removed it from the App Store.

Thank you Red Light for that - the only thing I didnt mention is that he doesnt have access to itunes via a computer - he is working away from home - is there a way his wife (using a pc) can convert it to a particular format somehow and then emailing it to him? If so - what format and how?!

Many thanks!

Ive used 'anyvideoconverter' in the past its free but not very fast and the similar 'Hamster Converter', I also used a faster one before but it was a free trial and I forget the name. I might try this one the next time, its got much better reviews.

If his wife has iTunes on her computer then she could convert the file and Dropbox or email it to him. Best to go with iTunes to convert it. You can play mp4 on the iPhone but its very fussy about the format it was coded in. iTunes takes care of it automatically.
