Sorry mum....

I wish to issue this apology to my mother...

I asked my mother to email me some pictures she had taken of us on Christmas Day but they never arrived... Being an IT engineer and knowing my mother and her "ability" with anything technical, I assumed they were never sent (it has taken her 7 months to learn how to use the oven in her new home).

Wrong. She did send most of them on Christmas Day and a few more on the 28th December... they have just arrived. So, even though I know you will never ever see this or more accurately because I know you will never ever see this, sorry mum.... I assumed you could not use your (newish) iPad 2.0 or had simply forgotten (once again) to send them...:biggrin:

I was talking my mum through someone on her ipad when she asked which of the buttons on the front she should be pressing.

My mum spent an hour with me on the phone insisting her iPad screen keyboard do not have a colon. The reason was she was trying to type a web address into the "To:" box of an email. As colons are not used in emails, the colon disappears!

She is almost 80 and never even really used a pc before. I have online access to her email account to sort out problems etc. Just found the following email from her to my Dad (in the next room). Very sweet.

Subject: Scrabble

How would you like a little game with a cup of coffee? I Am making you scones for tea.

Love from me xxx

I was at a cabaret night in London last Friday and at the next table were a group of Chelsea pensioners in full costume one of whom seemed to be having no problem taking pictures of the striptease act with his mobile. Must have been in their 70s/80s ^_^.

Everytime I FaceTime my father I have the same start to the conversation;

"Dad we are face timing , take the phone away from your ear!"

I gave up on my Gmail account as it was taking up to a couple of months to deliver email in either direction. Given I was trying to use it for my work related emails, and my smart phone, it was considerably beyond useless.

When I use my mobile to call someone, I select them from my contact list and press 'call'.
I then put the phone to my ear.
HOWEVER, I hear no ring tone until I pull the phone away from my ear and I look quizzically at the screen then put the phone to my ear again.:wacko:
