I could well be interested, Chris. I'll have done the Netherlands trip by then and checked out the quality and quantity of pretty Dutch girls to update the research you so selflessly started;)

Nice one. What route did you decide on in the end?

Due to time restrictions and your recommendation for the west coast - a clockwise loop.

Hoek - IJmuiden - Enkhuizen - across the Ijseelmeer(?) - Appeldoorn- Gouda - Hoek.... or something like that.

Yep I think that should be a nice route, varied scenery and plenty of pretty girls

after reading all the posts on just how hilly it is and plus the fact the terror of the wet chalk paths, I think that its a definate no even for a 700x28 Hybred perhaps when I do come to do this trip as part of a longer journey from the West country to East Sussex Route 24 and Route 2 will be the way to go even if its longer in miles.

Mangaman,do you remmeber the name of the really steep little nip in deepest west sussex I referred to? I'm pretty sure it's unrideable but there may be a longe, easier r diversion around it. I recall hearing peacocks screeching but I may have been halucinating!
This thread has whetted my appetite to have another go this summer.
If you are riding west the downhill section from Burton down to Littleton farm by the zig-zag can be very hairy in wet or frosty weather.

What happened to Mangaman? We had a great night out in Amsterdam a few years ago getting thoroughly sozzled.
