Work permitting I am lining up a short four day tour around Easter time.
As an outline for the route, and aiming at max 100 km a day, I am looking at Cork-Killarney, Killarney- somewhere on Beara via Dunloe gap and Kenmare (where depends on how the legs hold up), Rest of Beara to maybe Bantry, then back to Cork.
It will be a credit card tour so I'll be staying I in B&Bs with a small amount of kit in my saddlebag.
If anyone has cycled in this part of the world then all and advice is welcome. In particular having read a few crazy guy and other journals what is the terrain like on Beara (the journals suggest either not too bad or very up and down I guess this was based on teh state of each authors legs but objectively does it roll gently or are there lots of short sharp climbs)?
Also, I will need to hire a bike in the Cork area(too complicated to take mine for a variety of reasons) does anyone have any ideas as to where I can hire a good enough bike for the trip?
many thanks in advance
oh yes and before anyone mentions it, the waterproofs will be packed
