I'll pass on the special pie. Paradoxically I'm happy to eat haggis and it's full of similar offal. Other offal that I'm happy to eat includes heart, liver and kidney.

I think that what will will and will not eat is governed by childhood eating experiences - I was given liver, kidney and heart to eat and I'd not made any anatomical connections regarding their provenance. When liver was on the menu for school dinners, the dinner ladies used to pile it on my plate because I was one of the few kids that would eat it. I always looked forward to liver day at school. I'm happy to handle the aforementioned organs and cook tasty dishes with them but I often find myself eating solo at home when I cook them.

My wife drew the line when I wanted to get a pig's head to make a broth.

being a farm/country lad i have grown up eating rabbit, pigeon, pheasant, squirrel etc etc and love it all, though i do know many people who would turn their noses up at any of the above

i must say i can't turn down a good steak and kidney pie when it's on the pub menu
Cheers Ed
